Cheers to 2013!!
We were so lucky and had visitors for New Years. Tyler’s brother, Tim, and his girlfriend, Erica, came up to Kansas. Again, we woke up to a white holiday...what a great way to end to 2012 because we really need the moisture.
I had told Tim and Erica while we were in TX that we were having a New Years party - before we really had anything planned. I still hope our thrown together party wasn't too lame for this young couple. Thankfully our neighbors were game for a party too and joined in. The guys did all the cooking including their famous hot wings and ribs. We ate over in the neighbors garage. It was freezing but the food helped warm us up! We concluded the evening with games at our house.
Erica and I decided we needed to make more eggnog since it was so good at our Christmas party. My aunt's recipe is amazing and really tastes the best. I'll try to add the recipe later! This got us to wondering, why can't we drink eggnog all year?! We might have to change that. You in?!
We opened up a bottle of sparkling cider for Keeler and did a big countdown with him at midnight. Well, midnight in some other time-zone…I think his ball dropped at 10pm, lol. He loved the party!! Here he is acting like such a big boy with a shot of pineapple juice. {You called it: Mother of the year, yes.}
Thanks again for coming up Tim and Erica! We loved having you all here. Keeler and Erica did some major bonding. He talked her ear off the entire time they were here. I think Tim might need to watch out...a younger man might be after your girl! :)
My last days of my vacation have been spent putting away holiday decorations and looking after these two munchkins. I'm looking forward to a beautiful new year. I didn't make any resolutions but this year I have set a goal, a running goal. That is to run a half marathon in May. I'm pretty impressed with myself on how well I've done the past three months on running. I still have a way to go but I'm excited!!
My local running group has been such a great motivator and inspiration. Thanks ladies!!
