This week was far too beautiful to stay inside! As a result, much of what I had planned got put on the back burner! I really must start planning our activities so that they can be done outdoors! Its so wonderful to watch the girls running and jumping and yelling and exploring outside! It makes me so happy to see them enjoy nature!
We blew lots and lots of bubbles!
Investigated the wild life (mostly ants and caterpillars!)....
And did lots of chalk drawings! This picture is Piper playing a chalk alphabet game, an idea I got from Elle Belle's Bows. I would make a letter's sound and she would hop to the correct letter! She LOVED this! (Especially the hopping part!)
Of course, our first field trip largely took place outside and was definitely the highlight of our week!
Inside, Piper worked on some pre-writing skills with printables from Musing's of Me's Farm Pack.
I also put together this little activity for Piper since she is becoming more and more interested with how letters make words. I put velcro on the back of the words and she had to put each word next to the corresponding animal!
She worked on tracing the letter 'C' in her paint trace bag as well as outside in the mud with a stick! That was all her idea and a great one!
She crafted a paper plate cow...
And a handprint sheep!
Piper also worked on matching these mama and baby farm animal cards from Lawteedah's Farm Life Unit Study. This was really great for talking about what the baby animals are called (ie. foal, piglet, calf, etc...) since this is new vocabulary for Piper!
A couple of my favorite pics from the week:
Daddy reading to his girls! :) (How could I not favour a picture of the 3 people I love the most in the world cuddling together on the couch?!)
And this...
A style all her own! I wouldn't have it any other way!
Hope you enjoyed our week as much as I did!
